A challenge card for Freshly Made Sketches

This month over at Club Scrap, the kit is delightful.  What could be better than Cherry Blossoms in April.  With the Asian Flair, the minute I opened my box, I thought of my Kimono Die that I only used once, long ago.

So lets take a look:

This is for Freshly Made Sketches.  FMS #283

This card is very straight forward.  So simple I didn't write a tutorial.  Will tell what I did.

Using the kit from April Club Scrap. Cherry Blossoms

Using the paper at the top, I  laid a die along the umbrellas and die cut.  Then trimmed it down to fit onto an A2 card base.  The Card base is white and I layered the grey shimmering velum (included in the kit behind.   Using the same dye cut a white piece that fit above the curve and stamped a sentiment.

This is how I get my stamps to curve.  I cut a little wedge where ever it is trying to buckle and then formed it to the curve.  Stamped, and added happy on top.

All that was left was to finish  the Kimono.  This took some trial and error.  I wanted it soft and delicate but bold enough to stand out.  Ended up with the pink paper in the kit and gold foil tape both ran through the die cutter and layered.  This die is from Elizabeth Craft and after doing a search, learned it is no longer available, but her stickers are still available and are the same design. Kimono Sticker.  They could easily be used in this manner and fussy cut the backing card.

Placed on top of the court with dimensional, and added the Cherry Blossom Stickers from the kit.

Simple, soft and elegant.

That is it, Visit Club Scrap to see the rest of the Cherry Blossom Kit and stay tuned for our regularly scheduled Blog Hops and Team Challenge.

Also, vist Freshly Made Sketches to see what other card makers did with this month's sketch.

Happy Crafting,

Challenge card For Cas(e) that Sketch

Time for a challenge.  My New Year's plan was to just stay on schedule.  I spent all day working on my personal blog and after filling up the garbage, decided that I was just not going to make that card.

I moved over a sheet of paper from the latest kit, and immediately had the perfect idea for a card.  Next step was to find a challenge that would work.  Not the easiest way to find a challenge, but I did.

Here is my card:

Sketch #203 from Cas(e) this Sketch:  here is the link to the blog spot

Pretty close.  I used the paper for the flowers.

Lets see  how I made it:

Start with the paper:  Kit is Color me Happy, from Club Scrap January 2017 collection.  The kit also comes with an amazing silver pen.

Fussy cut out one of the swirls.  It is the one in the lower left corner.  Then placed in on an A2 card base and adjusted the size.

Next I too k the silver pen and added more dots.  This close up shows how well the pen matched the paper.

Last step was to create a sentiment.  That was the hardest part.  Thought about Calligraphing the sentiment with the silver pen , but! I did not want to practice or waste my paper.  My previous project wore me out!!!  So I stamped and embossed, and stamped and embossed again and finally settled on Ranger Silver Embossing Powder and a die cut.

See all the dots! I think it is perfect example of clean and simple as well as elegant and fits the sketch.

Until next time,
Happy Crafting.
