Club Scrap: Team Challenge for November.

Can you believe it, another month nearly half over.  I just recovered from Halloween and now Thanksgiving is dawning.  Oh well, fall is a lovely time to paper craft or craft of any type.  Down here in Texas, I am not sure the "fall" has arrived.  I left work today with 85 degree temps, sprinklers irrigating lawns, and lawn mowers busily working to make the green expanse tamed.  If I had not looked at a calendar I would have thought early summer, late spring, but definitely not fall.  Oh well!.
Well lets get down to business.  You should have arrived fromJennifer, or if you want to start over Click Here.

So what did I make!!!  The challenge was to use a sticker from the kit, or tape and one of the stamp sets provided.  These were not from this month kits but from a past release.  The stamps were Enchanted Forest and Girlfriends.  The Sticker were from the Sunflower kit.

My goal was to create a stamped card that did not look like I had stamped it.  So of course watercolors and markers came to mind.  Lets start with card 1.

Card 1:
This controlled watercolor.  First they were stamped in Archival Black ink on Cold Press Watercolor paper.  Then I added water to each flower and then blocked in the color.  I made sure that I did not paint a flower that was next to a wet one.  Always let the paint dry to keep from bleeding.

Once dry, I wet the area around all of the flowers.
And added the background wash.  After dry, put in the details.  double click to see the details.
Tore the image sheet to shape, mounted it on a white mat and finally on a teal A2 card base.  Added the embellishments, Done!

Card 2:
This one is my favorite:

Stamped the image on white Bristol paper using an archival black ink.
Same technique, block in the color. In this case I was using Zig Real Color Markers.  They do not move and blend as well as the watercolors, so work faster.
After coloring, I shaded around the flowers with a grey marker, added detail and cropped to size.

The Flower images were mounted on a black mat and then popped up on a white card base.  The stamped "Beautiful" was stamped and then cut out using my Brother Scan n Cut, colored with the same markers and mounted onto the card.  A black and White Ribbon and sunflower embellishments finish it off.  All of this was popped onto a black Slightly larger than A2 card base.  Nice!

Card 3:

This one was a bit more challenging.

I wanted a vintage feel and wanted to try and create a more painterly image.

First I created the background.
Using watercolors, I blocked in the colors on a larger piece of Water Color Paper.

Stamped the image using Ground Espresso Distress ink, as a second generation stamping.

blocked in the colors.

Added details using a fine liner brush and black paint thinned to consistency of ink and a black liner pen.
Added Wink of stella and white Gel pen to give dimension and interest as well as lighten it up

Another  view.  I tore the paper to the size, inked up the edges and mounted only the center of the panel to  the cream mat paper that was also distressed.

A teal card base and sequins finishes this.  There was a sunflower embellishment in the left upper corner, but it fell off, I did not notice until I was writing this blog post.  I think the Distress ink was still wet. Oh well, a stronger glue and it will be perfect.  I do think this has a vintage feel especially with the font that was used for the Sentiment.

Well that is it for me.  Your next stop is: Cheryl

Happy crafting,
Josette
